One of the very few currently in the US, and Audi USA’s PR car, the Spyder was carefully delivered to our lot and admired by everyone who laid eyes on it. No touching though!
Suzuka Gray donned the outside, paired with 20″ titanium forged alloy wheels, red brake calipers, and aluminum trim, heavenly matched by an Express Red leather interior with carbon fiber inlays and diamond stitched seats.
The Spyder is no different from the coupe: a growling 5.2L V10 produces 540hp/398lb-ft torque, laid down by its Quattro AWD system and seven-speed dual-clutch automatic, with technology at the top of its class. The only minute distinction is the absence of a roof and a little button inside.
While the speed of the Spyder is nothing short of impressive, so is Audi’s technology inside the cabin, making it equal parts racecar and luxury road-tripper. The convertible is equipped with all the awesome features found in the 2017 A4, 2017 Q7, 2017 TT/TTS, and 2017 A3/S3- Virtual Cockpit, digital climate control, refined shifter and steering wheel, and enhanced MMI.
After its time with us, the Spyder took a trip to the Tiburon Ritz-Carlton for the 2017 Naples Winter Wine Festival. The stunning Spyder was on hand at the festival to give patrons a glimpse at what the supercar has to offer, helping to aid the auction for the first 2017 R8 Spyder to be delivered in the US. While this particular Spyder was not the auction car, the bid ended at $360k for a gorgeous Ara Blue Crystal Spyder for one lucky person!
